- Framed and Matted Vintage US Geographic History print features the eruption of Mount St Helens, an active volcano located in Skamania County, Washington, in the region referred to as the Pacific Northwest. Eruption of the volcano on May 18, 1980, was preceded by an earthquake that measured 5.1 on the Richter Scale, after which there was a lateral blast that caused an avalanche and resulted in substantial damage to the surrounding areas and human habitation.
